Walk of Light
On 30th March, the evening before Mother’s Day, Larissa’s mum and dad, along with her brothers, auntie, uncle, and cousins, came together to take part in the Walk of Light in support of Blood Cancer UK at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham.
The family, beautifully wrapped in glowing lights and lanterns, joined hundreds of other participants to complete the 5k walk. The illuminated trail created a truly magical and emotional atmosphere, as families walked side by side in honour and memory of loved ones affected by blood cancer.
For Marie and Dave, it was a poignant way to remember Larissa on the eve of such a significant day, surrounded by the love and support of their family. Together, they raised an incredible £3,365 for Blood Cancer UK, helping to fund vital research and provide support for those living with the disease.
At the finish line, participants were invited to spend a quiet moment at a shared reflection wall, covered in heartfelt messages and names of those impacted by blood cancer. This powerful display of love and remembrance provided a chance for families to pause, reflect, and honour the lives of those they were walking for.
The Walk of Light was a moving tribute to the light Larissa continues to shine in the lives of those who love her.
