About The Foundation
First and foremost, the family decided to set up the Larissa foundation in her memory because they are determined that her legacy will live on. Larissa was a fun-loving little girl who loved life, remembered for her motto ‘One life, live it!’ Little did she know that her life would be cut short due to the devastating impact of Leukaemia.
The family had no idea that Larissa even had Leukaemia and were enjoying their life to the max. So it is now their quest to help others enjoy life, just like Larissa did.
Since Larissa’s death, the family are determined to make a real difference in Larissa’s name by supporting a range of charities. Upon their return from America, which was where Larissa died, they were shocked by the lack of support and bereavement services provided to a family experiencing the most devastating time of their lives. This is why Child Bereavement UK was the first charity that they supported.
The charity trustees will decide upon their charity focus each year.
In 2025, the Larissa Foundation will be supporting:
-
Bereavement services
-
Children’s charities
-
Children’s hospital and wards in the local area
-
Leukaemia and Blood Cancer support, research and awareness
-
Disability in sports (Larissa loved to keep active)
Each year their fundraising events will include:
-
Active challenges
-
Sponsored events
-
Wakeboarding competition
-
Merchandise sales
